Shonta came to UNC Charlotte in December 1997. Her previous positions at UNC Charlotte include Assistant Director of the B.E.S.T. Program ( a Federal TRIO program) and academic advisor in the University Advising Center. She earned her B.S. in Psychology from Tuskegee University and her M.Ed. in Community Agency Counseling from Clemson University. She gains the greatest satisfaction working with students when she is able to assist them in pursuing a major that suits not only their interests, but their strengths and aptitude. Shonta loves watching NFL football, particularly our own Carolina Panthers. She also enjoys spending time with family, friends and her two dogs, Ava (Miniature Schnauzer) & Zoe (Silky Terrier).
